About 20 years ago, a group of friends got together and made sounds
that were pleasing to their ears. This group of friends started getting together
on a regular basis and eventually decided to name themselves. Some of them were in
college at the time and it is safe to surmise that the name Cryptoporticus came out of one
of those individual's classroom studies from the time. Wherever it came from and whatever it
meant at the time, it has taken on new meaning as the years have gone by. Many individuals have come and gone over the years, but at least 3 original members remain and continue on to this day. This site will chronicle recordings from the spirit of those original gatherings and on to the many different permutations that have evolved over the years and the years to come. |
